Meshina is a character that is still very much developing for WaterWings... but she's one who's extremely important. I rather recently had a lacking amount of sleep one night in exchange for some rather good story development. (Story development happens when Is hould be sleeping as I lay in bed wondering why the heck I can't sleep!) This resulted in a progression of the early story and development of both Leia-Ja and Meshina.

Meshina is the one who takes Anya in after the shipwreck, and shortly after is designated as the girl's official caretaker for however long she stays in the colony. Personalitywise, Meshina is typically rather shy and quiet even when she has something to say. Needless to say, I somewhat surprised myself when, in my mind, this girl punched a guy who tried to mug her in the gut and shortly thereafter lectured somebody... Leia-Ja, no less, the colony's queen. (The sideways picture and quote...)

In case anybody's trying to read these things...

"Some people act weird under a full moon, I guess. I find it hard to sleep, myself. I'm far too busy watching that glow coming through the waves. Something about it is so soothing... I think... it could very well replace sleep for me all together."
(Meshina sits and just... stares at the thing. Really. There's no real good reason, which is why her explanation isn't great. It just struck me as something a person like her would do.)

"Do you have any idea at all what it is she's going through?! She's in a lose-lose situation! If she goes she'll be thrown from one insincere household to another, and if she stays she can't hardly exist without being attacked in some manner or other! You tell me what I'm doing wrong in defending my child before you call me an idiot for being angry!"
(That's after she punches a guy in the gut for not only gainging up on her and Anya with his buddies, but being excessively blunt in his opinions of the girl after she's kicked every last one of their butts. 'Cause Anya's got skillz. Leia-Ja didn't find Meshina's reaction approveable ["You make Anya cry! I make you HURT!" *punch*] and decided to make this clear to her. Obviously, even timid little Meshina can be set into a really, really bad mood. )

"Anya... Even if everyone else tries to find fault with you... for what it's worth, I will always trust you. Whatever you finally decide to do, I'll be there for you."
(What is this implying? Ho, ho, ho! ... Yeah. I'm not very good at writing Caring Mother Figure speeches, can you tell? But that's fine. Meshina's not even considered an adult [I was thinking 16, but I'm leaning more towards a slightly older age, but still rather young for the amount of crap people place on her to do....], so she most definitely has as little practice at that sort of thing as I do. XD)

So, yeah... that's the order those play out, even though those aren't the order drawn. Actually, the lecture thing was last... Anybody like Meshina's signature? She's the second WaterWing to make one for herself. I think Leia-Ja will be second. It's funny, they never thought of it and learn it from Anya. XD
