Press X - Fetish Ocean

By this point I was having trouble thinking of things that would stand well on their own. That's when Amanda came over and the events that this strip is based on came to happen.

Truth be told, Star Ocean really does a fine job making fun of itself and keeping you guessing how unintentional it is. Around the time Welch starts pointing out how every girl on your ship helps cover the entire gamut of safe-for-T-rating Japanese fetish fuel, you start to wonder if the more questionable moments weren't all the more on purpose. As you ponder this, the cat girl will hop on Edge in a rather suggestive manner and get caught by the girl you peeped on in the shower a couple planets back.

The SO art style is an attempted cross between the style of the drawn art for the game, and the fact that everyone seems to have creepy Bratz-doll eyes in-game. (This attempt at mixing realism with anime? Try again, Tri-Ace, it's creepy as hell!) What resulted was me compensating for Painter's lack of any sort of decent gradient tool (it has gradient fills but very, VERY minimal control over them) and trying to keep the colors vibrant but not so much so that an Overlay layer wouldn't serve as the shadows. For every moment where Lymle came out fabulously there was Faize and his stupid lime green hair ruining everything, so of all the pages I'd say this one ate the most time and, consequently, ends up having the most iffy results in the art.

Never mind that this is at least the third draft of the writing and at some point people ran out of ideas that were any better, and were afraid to suggest worse ones as I'd been sleeping pretty poorly for a couple days and was about ready to just fling the laptop out the window.

Birthday parties + deadlines = pretty stressful. Surprise!

The name sucks and I'm seeking a better one. Ideas are welcome. This was hard and I wish I could've expanded on the ideas more. That about covers it.

If people like it i'll look into doing more of it, starting with fleshing out what's already there and seeing where things go.
