Lonely HoovesFor the record, I'm not entirely trying to neglect this. I've been pondering how to adjust a scene since coming to terms with the simple reality that a guy who can barely get an extra page out every month or two probably shouldn't attempt a literal song and dance via a rather extensive animation. Isn't It? might still happen at some point, but right now I've not the guts to put myself out there vocally like that nor the time to actually assemble all of the other parts. I've finally sat down and written through to and a bit past where the song was meant to take place (with a little jab at the fact thrown in, in a manner that'll hopefully stand on its own even for people who don't know the reference), so hopefully we'll finally see Mr. Hooves make a return before much longer. Sorry about the wait! Though part of it was due to...
Shadows Over TrelldainI don't slap it all over DeviantART like I (probably) should, but I've been plugging away at HamstaPowah / Shadows Over Trelldain for something like a decade now, and recently sat down to make the final push through an interlude chapter that's taken significantly longer than I'd expected or wanted it to. That said, I'm pretty happy with it and wrote it to stand on its own, so if you're curious but don't feel like slogging through a bunch of back-log, it's a good little taste test, imo. You can check that out here.
In terms of forward momentum, I pushed through the last third or so of Light & Darkness by scripting and thumbnailing the whole mess ahead, like a sane person. I've taken a liking to the method, so the next chapter, Fledermaus, is presently being scripted and laid out. I've been chewing on this concept for a few years now, and I really want to make it work as best I can while trying to keep within a fairly regular page count of about 30 or so. I've also got Redux #2 sitting in a similar position, and it has been for a while now. Shame on me.
And hey, if you're in the new reader camp, Zone's been working really hard on reworking the guide. It's not 100% there yet (and I need to make a lot of pictures for entries that presently just 404 all over the place), but it should be functional enough and it sounds like he's caught up on chapter summaries through to where we're at. This is pretty cool if you don't want to work your way through 400 pages or so, many of which were drawn years ago and are not shy about showing their age oh no.
Sketch StreamsGuys, I'm just gonna say the turn out for this last one wasn't spectacular and leave it at that. I know Saturday afternoon's not exactly the ultimate time for most people, so I'm wondering what time is! Do let me know. Honestly Saturday afternoon's a bit hard for me sometimes too, because I'm lazy and beds are comfortable. I can't do it any ol' time, but I can certainly see what people are leaning towards and make some decisions based on that.
Other CrapI have a couple fairly substantial commissions outstanding, a month to get ready for my only convention of the year, and a bad dose of the game design bug. No single one of those is particularly notable or even faintly abnormal, but that's where we're at. There will be Flutterbat prints. I am making that happen. If you're making it to Rose this year, I have every intention to have that sucker on display. The only obstacle would be it printing out and looking super garbage, which... I generally just accept as a distinct possibility, though it's not much occurred yet. Also hoping to have a few new button designs in stock; pony folks have been after the CMCs for a while now, and they're actually somewhat tolerable these days as an added bonus, and a certain DJ has been on my shortlist for a couple years but somehow just keeps falling out when it comes to crunch time. I hope to correct this, finally.
That's all for now. Thoughts and feedback are appreciated as always, especially on the streaming business. Maybe I'll construct a poll if I can get some ballparks going.
